i just came back from the RJC symphonic band concert. i was actually forced to go for this by cheryl ann. but surprisingly, i really really enjoyed it! the concert was seriously really good! and i don't believe i'm saying this but the symphonic band played really marvelous music! hahaha...

i went to cheryl's house at around 5 plus to get dressed. we then went to j8 for lunch and to buy mel a rose. we ate at mos burger, again! and then we realised we were really early so we just walked around j8 for a bit. we then went to the florist to buy the rose. we spent a lot of time there actually looking for a nice flower. and finally, haha, we found the perfect rose. although its like purple and quite a gay colour, the flower was fully bloomed and looked realy nice... :P then cheryl had a sudden urge to go to umeya to buy plums. haha, lol. we looked totally weird actually... all dressed up carrying a rose, in j8. then, we went to city hall. and cheryl...realised we got off at the wrong stop...haha. that girl has seriously no sense of direction! we got back on the train and took it to raffles place. and we made our way to victoria concert hall.
me, being deborah, was amazed at the beauty of the singapore river. stopped cheryl and forced her to take a photo of us with the singapore river. hahahaha...

i've never actually been to a symphonic band concert before...so this was a good experience.lol. the first few songs was okay lah. but not that spectacular. but cheryl began fidgeting. lol...
anyway, after the interval, the music got 10times better. cheryl and i moved to the second row! pretty extra of us but we could see mel and we stared taking spastic pictuers of him and well, that made him laugh. so we stopped. hahahaha. cheryl was obsesseing over some saxaphone player. but he was seriously really good. he solo-ed in so many of the pieces! and she took so many pictures of the guy!! goshh...!
then they played in sections. like the saxaphones played first(cheryl got very excited cos that great soloist was playing). and he played really really good by the way... and then the clarinets played. and then the percussions played. omg! the percussions were really good! they played a very upbeat samba piece. and the guys like tied this cloth around their head. hahahaha. and they really got our feet taping. haha. and then all the wind instruments played...
and ahhh! they played tong hua!!!!! OMG! it was so friggin' good! cheryl was singing along to the song. haha. ok whoops. her liking the song supposed to be a secret cos according to her its a twit song. lol. but they played it so well and my hair seriosly stood up! and then, they played the incredibles theme song. this was also really good! and after that, they played this piece called El Cumbanchero. this was the finale and it was superb! and there was one part, where all the flutes stood up and came to the front. mel was there too. and i took a funny pic of him and hahaha...he gave a spastic smile for the camera. bahahaha...and that pro saxaphone soloist solo-ed again. in fact, twice in that song...
and after the concert, we started shouting encore encore. and yep, they encored for us. twice! hahhaha. and so cute they gave the conductor a bouquet of flowers and.... an incredibles balloon!!!
and after the concert. we gave mel the nice purple rose. haizz..it was such a nice rose. lol... and then cheryl's dad picked us both up and he fetched me home.
i actually enjoy symphonic music now...haha...i wouldn't mind going to the next RJC symphonic band concert. :)
